Musical Reader x John Egbert ~Be My Valentine

      Okay, today is the day. The day you finally built up the courage to tell your crush of two years, John, that you loved him. He was your best friend in the whole world and the only guy that didn't make fun of you for being a total band geek, which you have to admit, you are. You can play the piano, sax, violin, bass, drums, but your favorite is guitar. You can play all the instruments listed very well, however, when you play the guitar, you get lost in it, and it is as if the world  isn't real, and you're floating on water. You actually told John that whole description and he was so moved by it that he actually freakin' hugged you. But that was last week, even though you're still hung up on it. You blushed walking into school thinking about it as you hoisted your falling guitar back on your shoulder. You'll have to remember to adjust the strap on your case later.

      You day was normal, the only difference is that today if Valentines Day. You met John last year on Valentine's Day, and you guys talked all day and hung out, because you both didn't have valentines. That was the day you two bonded forever. Seeing all the couples being all kissy-wissy-goo-goo with each other was something that you and John made fun of all day long. It was good to just, be yourself around someone for the first time ever. And now going back to the present, it was finally the end of the day. Thank god! But oh wait. No, not thank god, because you had given yourself a pep talk about a dozen times today about how you were going to play a song for John asking him to be your valentine, and weren't looking forwards to it. He only recently hear your voice, you wouldn't let him, you're too shy about things that you really have a passion for. When you first sang for him, his face was blush-tastic to say the least and the only words he could manage to choke out were, "O-oh my god, t-that was...wow." However, being little as it may, those words meant more to you than any other compliment you could have received.

       You spotted John walking out, you would recognize his yellow shoes any ware. You giggled to yourself and ran over to him. "Hey John." You smiled adorably up at him and he returned it with a goofy smile of his own. You guys walked down the front steps together, but instead of walking straight home, you stopped, causing him to stop as well. "[Name], what's wrong?" You blushed slightly, and averted your eyes down to the side, along with your head. "Um...I wanted to play something for you..." You barely whispered out. Luckily it was pretty quiet out and peaceful so he was able to hear you. John leaned down, looking side to side before returning his eyes to you, and whispered, "But, [Name] there are so many people out here, I thought you didn't like anyone to hear your voice." You blushed more at how close he was and slightly shook you head, still speaking in a whisper, "I...don't care." You looked up at him, giving him one of your legendary innocent sweet smiles, making him blush and smile back down at you.

       You took his hand gently and started walking over to the green grass where most of your classsmates hung out on after school; talking, and spending a fun sweet time with their lovers and friends. You sat down and John did the same. You started pulling out your guitar when some guys started calling out things like "oh look, the band geek's gonna start playing her dumb music again." You looked down, too embarrassed to see John glaring at them. He gingerly placed his hand on your knee in a reassuring way as he softly spoke, "Don't listen to them, your music is beautiful." You blushed slightly more and took a deep breath, closing your eyes before you put your hands on the guitar and started singing and playing a song for John.

"Love, it's a special day

We should celebrate and appreciate

That you and me found something pretty neat

And I know some day this is arbitrary..."

You looked around at the crowd that was forming and took a deep breath to continue.

"But it's a good excuse

You quickly glanced up at John who's face was red as an insert something red here cuz I'm too lazy to. ^^ You smiled quite adorably up at him while all the other people that are usually mean to you stared awestruck at you.

"Love, I don't need those things

I feel happy oh, so happy and complete"

You smiled up at John who looked like he was going to burst into happy tears at any moment.

"And it's a good excuse

       You took a deep breath again and looked up at John who had his eyes closed and the warmest smile you had ever seen delicately showing on his face. A single tear rolled down on his cheek. "Yes." he said as you smiled slightly, feeling like you were going to cry as well. You leaned forwards  to hug him tightly as you buried your face into his shoulder. 'Awwww's were heard all around, some of the kids that usually give you a hard time were actually crying with smiles. John pulled back and you guys smiled into each other's eyes before you kissed slowly and adorably, earning even more 'aww's from everyone around you. You blushed and John pulled out, smiling back at you. "I love you too [Name]~"
